Meandering its way
Through the thick of the wild
The path reached there
And paused for a moment's breath
Beside the log of wood
Which also seemed to ask
Just like all those what ifs
That peeked at every bend
'To where art thou headed'
Weary of its ordeal
And wistfully gazing ahead
At what appeared to be
Like an everlasting journey
The path pondered aloud
Am I going the right way?
Will I reach there one day
At that final destination
Which is, the end of the Earth
The log gave a knowing smile and said
Aye my dear, that's where all the others
Are headed too, to that very point
Follow them 'n you will reach there as well
But I thought no one's ever reached there
Asked the path astonished
Aye dear, that's an affirmative too
Confirmed the wooden log
For, every one who started
On that unquenchable quest
Never began their way back
From any of their end
And neither did realise that
The Earth remained round as always
At each corner and every little bend
PS : This post is posted as part of #BlogchatterA2Z 2021 challenge for the letter Q.
Poem posted as part of the 30 day poetry challenge for the month of April #NaPoWriMo2021 and #ArtoonsInnPoetryParlour.
Lovely as always! I really liked how you merged the science and art of it by linking the unquenchable quest with the round shape of the globe.
ReplyDeleteAh! the quest of a seeker.
ReplyDeleteThe point where one reaches, is the point where new journeys begin so round and round it may seem to the onlooker,
but truth can seem thus to the one who's watching like the log, not surrendering to the quest.
The earth is round and so are our paths. But where we start is not where we end because we have changed during the journey.
ReplyDeleteLovely poem, Ira. The picture is just as beautiful. Did you click it?
This made me think of how we seek for answers outside when they're within us, waiting to be asked. Beautifully captured Ellora.
ReplyDeleteSearch for within what you seek outside.
ReplyDeleteOutstanding as always
Nice words. The quest continues.
ReplyDeleteIrrespective of who has walked the path before & never mind the shape of our earth.
Let the quest be endless.
ReplyDeleteCoincidentally my post for Q is also QUEST.
The path is the seeker and how nicely you have woven those words to connect it with one's journey within.
